Communities on the internet have grown at a rapid pace. In fact one of the driving forces of the whole internet is it's ability to connect people. It may have started with friends and family. Now it is moving to strangers looking to meet new strangers and become friends or more.
Powering such movements on the internet are community giants like Myspace, Yahoo, Craigslist and Google to list just a few of them. These communities are not just bringing in normal people to grow their communities. Even very famous people are contributing to their growth. In Yahoo's popular Question and Answer site several famous people including Bono of U2 and creators of everyday products have joined the club. This interaction has only drawn more and more people.
Love is something else that has grown in these online communities. Stories all over exist of romances that started with these internet have grown into longtime relations and marriage. There are several big firms online that are growing very fast capitalizing on the romance factor of the internet.
These online communities are not without risk and danger. Because of them those looking to prey on young people and women have a perfect shade to allow them to present a danger. This danger has been so disturbing that it has caused the likes of the FBI to get involved with the monitoring of these communities. Please if you have children consult with online guides about how to protect them. It has been noted that contact with these felons occurs right in the living rooms of families where the family computer is at.
Dangers aside, the online communities of the internet look to grow further and further promote the growth of one of the best inventions we have seen in our time - the internet.
