Creating a desired text effect
You can create a bold desirable text effect which is often very attractive. This will boost the effect of your presentations and websites. You can use it for clip arts also.
These are the sequential steps:-
• Open a new file in Photoshop.
• Type some text with the type tool.
• Select the ‘T’ icon, right click and select the render option.
• Double click the gradient option and select black (background) and grey (foreground).
• Double click to open the option palette, select linear gradient and put it in the background.
• Use Shift key and apply the gradient on the text.
• Now select the duplicate layers and drag it to 3 or 4 pixels with the arrow key.
• Select the transparency text box.
Create a globe
This is how you should go about imaging an earth on your computer.
• Open a new file in Photoshop
• Restrict it to 220x220 pixels and keep it in the RGB mode.
• Select the colors dark blue (background) and light blue (foreground).
• From the options select filter->render->clouds. (This will use the already used colors to create a cloud)
• Now from the light effects menu change the ellipse to circle.
• Drag the focus to 15 and apply
And lo behold! Here is the world that you have created.
Give the shadow effect to your text
This gives an amazing look to the text.
• Open a new file with width-200 pixel and height-40 pixel
• Create any text with the type tool
• Select the text and apply the Bevel filter, using the Button Preset
• Now using the own text properties, create the shadow effect
• You can also create multiple effects
Use filters
Filters give a revamped look to your images
They are available in the program or can be added from a CD
• Open a new image; click the filet option in the menu
• You will see multiple filters there which are artistic, blur, brush stroke, sketch, stylize, textures and so on.
• Explore them as to how each one enhances your image.
• Practice and try out all of them. It is a must for beginners.
